Anambra State

Anambra state is a state that consists of 2 indigenous ethnic groups. 98% of the state consists of Igbos, while the remaining 2% of the state consist of the Igala. The Anambra state culture is known for many things. Here are some of them.

 

Food

A lot of traditional foods can be found in Anambra. Some of them are:

a. Ofe Onugbu

b. Ofe Akwu

c. Nkwobi

d. Abacha

e. Ukwa

Dressing

Each culture has a specific way of dressing. Examples of clothes that can be found in the Igbo Culture are:

a. George wrapper

b. Hollandais wrapper (abada)

c. Isiagu

d. Lions skin 

Festivals

A lot of festivals take place in Anambra yearly. Some example of them are:

a. Ofala Festival

b. Nnewi Afiaolu Festival

c. Ime Ogbe Festival

d. Mmanwu Festival

e. New Yam Festival

Artifacts

One of the things that Anambra is also known for are its artifacts. Some of the artifacts that can be found in Anambra are:

a. Bronze Artifacts

b. Jewelry

c. Ceramics.

d. Regalia
